Enjoy a restaurant dinner featuring Kurlbaum's Heirloom Tomatoes and specially prepared food, good drink and company.  During the evening you'll be treated to presentations from the Chef describing the food as well as tomato history and lore from the Kurlbaum family.

August 6 (Monday), 6:00 pm--Chicken N Pickle benefiting Homes from the Heart an amazing organization that builds sustainable communities in Central America and Haiti!

August 9 (Thursday), 6:00 pm--Michael Smith's Restaurant Annual Tomato and Wine Dinner at Michaels Smith's

This event features James Beard Award Winning Chef Michael Smith and a guest celebrity Chef.  Michael brings his creative culinary skills to the table at his beautiful Cross Roads Restaurant.  Last year's event was the biggest yet selling out the entire restaurant.  His dishes are carefully paired with wines from renowned wineries.  For reservations go soon to michaelsmithkc.com.

2018 Kurlbaum Farm to Table Dinners (at our Farm)

Enjoy a tour of our tomato farm from Liz Kurlbaum ("Tomato Lady") before dinner and the History of Tomatoes and other Tomato Lore by Tomato Sommelier, Sky Kurlbaum.  Then  get served a Chef Prepared Dinner by a local celebrity chef using local ingredients including, of course, Kurlbaum's Heirloom Tomatoes fresh from the garden along with whatever else is currently in season.  You'll be having dinner by 6:00 and be back home by 9:30 but have the time of your culinary life in between, guaranteed.  Prices are all inclusive (dinner, wine, gratuity and all the fun extras including for most events, live entertainment).  In 2016 and 2017, every dinner sold out and we had over 500 guests, so save the dates, invite some friends and make your reservations early for a dinner night you'll never forget!

 

July 20 (Friday) 6:00pm--Chef Michael Peterson from Char Bar.

Have you been to Westport to enjoy a night out lately?  No worries...Talented Chef Peterson from Char Bar (charbarkc.com) will bring the fun to the farm.  His creative cooking style and personality will both entertain and delight your taste buds--not to mention his ability to weave our tomatoes into nearly every plate he serves!  Dessert too!  Come unwind at the farm!!!  This is always one our fan favorites!  SOLD OUT!  SOLD OUT!  SOLD OUT!

            Smoked Lobster Rillettes, Tomato Caviar and Toast

July 21 (Saturday) 6:00 pm--Chef Devin Campbell from the new Sailor Jack's Restaurant in Westport will be at the Kurlbaum Farm.  

This night brings Chef Devin Campbell's talents to the farm for his first visit.  We are very pleased to have his skills, honed in conjunction with Michael Peterson's tutilage over the years.  Chef Devin is Executive Chef at the new Sailor Jack's Restaurant in Westport and this evening portends to be a display of his finest dishes.  SOLD OUT!  SOLD OUT!  SOLD OUT!

Chef Devin Campbell's Menu:

Saison vinegar compressed watermelon. Circus frisée salad. Tomato infused Ricotta. Agrumato. 

Seared and chilled scallop. Hazelnut milk. Cilantro oil. Tomato salt.

Tomato agnolotti. Spring onion. Parmesan milk. Gochugaru oil. 

Sherry braised Beef shank. Calabrian oil confit tomato. Corn pudding. Grilled oyster mushrooms.

July 24 (Tuesday), 6:00 pm--Featuring not one but two Chefs at the Kurlbaum Farm--Jasper Mirabile and Michael Smith!  

This is Kansas City's culinary event of the season!  Rather than competing (we'll save that for a later event) these two award-winning chefs will collaborate on the night's offerings.  Great food and entertainment by these gregarious chefts will fill the evening.  Don't miss it!  SOLD OUT!  SOLD OUT!  SOLD OUT!

Chris Foster:

Chris has been performing professionally for 26 years. To date he has performed over 5000 gigs for Such clients as Walt Disney World, Ritz Carlton Resorts, The American Red Cross and many many more.  In 2006 Chris and co-writer Stacey Knights won the American Idol Underground songwriting competition (jazz category) with the song titled "Morning Monk".  Also in 2006 Chris won the Liberty Missouri Performing Arts New Artist Showcase.  In 2003 he was recognized by the Government of Key West Florida for his Composition titled "Storm of the Century" and his musical depiction of the 1935 Labor Day Hurricane.  In 2002 His song "Palma De Mallorca" was recognized by the King of Spain. He is noted for his great skill of guitar playing that is showcased on his Christmas CD and his Back To Brazil CD.

Nicki Scruggs (born July 9th, 1992 in Kansas City, MO) is an alternative, blues and R&B singer/songwriter and guitarist. She often holds comparisons of Bonnie Raitt, Norah Jones and ZZ Ward. Influences range from Incubus to Prince to Raitt herself.  Nicki was an American Idol Hollywood contestant in 2011 and is now promoting her 7 song EP that was recorded in Kansas City and Muscle Shoals, AL.
